This editorial highlights the urgent need to standardize the measurement of patient safety-related outcomes in Intensive Care Units across Europe, including:

🔹 Healthcare-associated infections
🔹 Delirium
The SAFE-ICU COST Action brings together clinicians, researchers, and educators from more than 42 countries to improve ICU patient safety through collaboration, research, education, and harmonized outcome measurement.
Together, we aim to strengthen evidence-based ICU care and reduce avoidable patient harm across healthcare systems.
