SUMMARY:SAFE-ICU COST Action – Working Group 1 Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Our second meeting brought together ICU clinicians\, researchers\, and educators from across Europe with a shared commitment to rethinking pressure injury prevention in critical care. The discussion focused on organisational and system-level risk factors\, the integration of artificial intelligence and digital innovation into prevention strategies\, the distinction between avoidable and unavoidable pressure injuries\, and approaches for protecting patients who cannot be repositioned. The exchange was ambitious\, evidence-informed\, and firmly grounded in real ICU practice. Beyond identifying challenges\, we are working to generate comparable and meaningful assessments across European intensive care units and to strengthen collaboration between clinical practice and research.
